Working freelance and the dreaded tax return

Yes, it’s that time of year again. I think I’m getting used to the ‘language’ of tax returns now and which bits of the online tax return form are relevant to me and which bits aren’t.

There’s still a lot I don’t understand but I’m determined to keep my freelance business straightforward in the hopes that the filling in of my tax return form will remain straightforward too.

For anyone who is new to working freelance and is keen to work out their tax themselves here’s a simple, easy-to-understand overall synopsis of what’s tax deductible, what’s not, and how to calculate it all.

Good luck!
