Things that make me smile…

In my last post I made a list of things that I would do as a focus for my ‘writing plan’, and to keep me on track for ‘being creative’.  One of those things is to write a post every 2 weeks about the things that make me smile.  It’s been a busy month, and I’ve had a house move….

‘A smile is a curve that sets everything straight’

So, better late than never….here’s a list of eleven things that made me smile this past month (relating to trees, creativity, family, writing, travel, and life)…

  1. Keeping up with a Tree Hug every day this year…tree hug smiles
  2. Smiling at the variety of trees to hug – the choice is overwhelming..
  3. The date for me becoming a grandmother is getting nearer and nearer…
  4. With packing up and moving (again) to an even smaller space, I’m learning to be ever more creative with a minimal wardrobe…
  5. Embracing the unexpected… three days in Majorca in chilly February..
  6. The anticipation of booking on to Jeff Brown’s ‘writing your way home’ course for a second time…
  7. Living with a view of countryside  (South Downs) out of my window instead of the sea (English Channel)…
  8. Smiling at Siri – asking Siri directions to ‘Bosham’ (Chichester) whilst in the car and getting answers ranging from Ireland, Bottom Valley in California, and October Records, Chichester…
  9. Seeing orange and lemon trees (in Spain) in February…

  10. Going to a musical in London (Kinky Boots) and loving it, first London musical I’ve been to in years….
  11. Spending time regularly with lovely friends and family ALWAYS  makes me smile and laugh…

It’s been an interesting exercise thinking back over the past month and recalling the things that have made me smile.  We’re told that ‘laughter is the best medicine’ and that it increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies..

So…here’s a big smile for you

Brexit is Dead

I will re-post this daily, & as Arron Banks says, "public opinion is like concrete, once it sets you can't shift it".

Please feel free to share the same message & see how much concrete we can produce :).

Brexit means less sovereignty.

▪️A weak pound will allow foreign investors to pick off UK assets.

▪️WTO tariffs will make UK exports uncompetitive.

▪️Foreign corporations able to sue the UK Government.

▪️UK passport will have less power due to diminished freedom of movement.

Everyone needs constantly reminding that after 9 years of a Tory Government:

Child poverty + 50%
Food-bank use + 1,000%
Homelessness + 170%
NHS waiting list + 70%
Police numbers - 20%
Crime + 30%
Local gov funding - 50%
Public sector pay - 15%

Never forget how cruel they are.
